Blast of inspiration! - TBSSITW Wiki

It wasn't too long ago that I posted about myself and the Greek Easter phrases. Shortly after that I started an e-mail to the Chinese Pod team about the previous Saturday Show episode in which I featured as the Shameless Listner Of The Week.

周六44 The Saturday Show for April 7, 2007
Visit ChinesePod.com

As I was doing so I had a blast of inspiration. Wouldn't it be interesting to make a wiki that is specially dedicated to the Saturday Show showing all the shameless listeners, top 5 lists, strong/nice words, music played, famous quotes/memorable quotes etc. I think that the Saturday Show is such a big part of Chinese Pod and is worth making a wiki for. It would be fun!

Any feedback or extra ideas? It would be interesting to start and I think very entertaining as well to listen to all the Saturday Show episodes so far and remember what it was like to listen to them first time around. I have mentioned it to the CPOD staff via email.

See ya!

Hey, Matt.
I saw your blog indeed on the Chinesepod site, and I was really impressed.
I am Alexander, and same as you, I am also a language enthusiast. Currently, I myself am learning Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, French, Italian and Latin, while speaking pretty fluent English (or I like to believe so) and Hebrew, and limited Russian (it's my native language, but years of lack of practice have hurt it badly). Anyway, just wanted to say good work and keep up with your language studies :)

Hi Alexander! I just thought that I'd mention A Spoonful Of Russian for you. Go to:
http://www.spoonfulofrussian.com

Natalia (a real Russian) is a good lady and should be able to help you with your Russian.

Good to know that you are a language enthusiast as well. I had at one point thought of studying Hebrew. Unfortunately that craze didn't carry for too long.

See ya!

Hello, Matt! First of all, I'm 金平 Tsin_Ping in the comments section of ChinesePod.com! :) So, you like to make a wiki for Saturday Show, eh? In Wikipedia? :) BTW, did you see the ChinesePod in wikipedia? If not yet, here's the link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChinesePod Of course it's a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit it but some of them are made by me! :) Actually, the ChinesePod article in Wikipedia was so empty and not too informative, then I tried my best to edit it and have ChinesePod a real article in Wikipedia... :)

If you want, you can make a Wiki also for Spanish Sense! It started and, yet, still have no wiki... :) And wiki for the Saturday Show is cool too! Maybe we can help each other! :)

As I said in one of my comments in Satruday Show for April 7, I also want to be a linguistic also! I want to learn some major languages of the world! I know how to speak English and Tagalog (Philippine's official languages) and, of course, Chinese (I have a Chinese blood, that's why). (And, oh, I have also Spanish bloof, that's why my next language will be Spanish...) :)

Not only in the Earth's languages I crave about... I know you'll not be able to believe this but I also want to learn FICTIONAL languages... Yeah, I think the most popular fictional languages are Elvish (LOTR), and Klingon (Star Trek)...

In fact, (Oh I'll sound crazier when I say this), I even made a constructed language all by myself! Hehehe... No kidding! I think it's inspired by Chinese, English, Korean, and Tagalog... :)

I don't know if you know already about this website but here's a cool website with all the languages of the world, and there's even a section of FICTIONAL and CONSTRUCTED languages there! Cool, eh?

www.omniglot.com

Every language enthusiast must know that website, eh.. :)

Have a nice day! :)

Hi John,
What I meant by making a wiki for the Saturday Show was actually making a seperate wiki fopr it. You know how there is a Chinese Pod Wiki:
http://www.chinesepod.com/wiki/Main_Page

Well I want to make something like that for the Saturday Show. What do you think? I would appreciate some feedback and maybe next Saturday we can let other people know what we're coming up with.

Hi,
I heard the mention of you on the Saturday show too.

Why stop at 7 languages? I'm having a go at 27 at the moment.

You've posted some very nice links to various language podcasts.

Oh, have you ever thought of learning Esperanto? You can learn it in a couple of months and it gives you an extra language.

Budz -- I am probably going to learn more but as you heard I am 14 years old and have a lot of work from school. I don't have all the time in the world unfortunately. Wish I did. Then I could learn more.
